This past week has been a spiritual feast. Last Saturday I was able to attend the Womens's broadcast - the 2008 General Relief Society Meeting. On Thursday, a friend babysat for me to attend the temple and today, I was able to immerse myself in Conference in the comfort of my own... kitchen! Yes we watched online (and our computer happens to be in the kitchen).

My spirit has been uplifted and comforted. I am left inspired to work harder, be more grateful and encouraged to treasure each day I have with my dear children who are growing up fast. I have renewed faith that our Heavenly Father can accomplish great things through me.
I was better prepared for conference this time. Kurt printed out a colouring book for the girls and I laminated picture cards of the prophet and twelve apostles (got these from http://www.sugardoodle.net/mambo/) . Mila and Julia loved "matching" these cards with the speaker and colouring. Liam took a well timed nap that allowed me to immerse myself in the counsel and comfort of the words spoken.
The highlight for me was President Monson's talk this morning (Sunday). His message about finding "joy in the journey...NOW" was simple and profound. He emphasised that relationships should be our real priorities and we should not let ourselves be distracted. To paraphrase " do not let stresses get in the way of what is most important: the people around us," and "Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person."
I feel so grateful for this guidance and timely reminder to embrace the life I have been given.
