The Bathroom Project....

One day I will learn that the first image I add ... will actually be the last one to post. So we will start at the very end here with the paint/ texture shot. Yes this is the finished product. I am quite satisfied with the bathroom... but equally motivated to get quotes to get someone else to do the kitchen and other bathrooms. Perhaps I should do what I do best and be a nurse for a day while some else does what they do best and remove wallpaper and texture my walls!!

The shots above show the colour (with and without flash). As I was painting, I couldn't help thinking the paint should have been called "not so mellow yellow" instead of the less appropriate "clam chowder". Luckily I like yellow ... :)

And here we are right after my last post - the paper on the floor is what was up in the bathroom (as opposed to the wallpaper you see below which was layered beneath that). When people tell you stripping wallpaper is fulfilling and satisfying ... they are the same type of people that will tell you labor is not that bad ...
Yes, They are the quick to forget types, so DO NOT BELIEVE A WORD.

Although I was half way through demolition when I picked up the camera... here is some of the story of our upstairs bathroom in photos. I would like to say the story ends here, but unfortunately, before I had even completed stripping the wallpaper from the bathroom I was possessed to start ripping the wallpaper in the Kitchen. A few days into the Kitchen I realised this was a task way beyond the time available before Mom and Dad Smook arrived (and quite likely beyond MY capabilities!). They arrived on Tuesday last week ... and although they do have a functional bathroom... the kitchen is in quite a state! Oh well, I am just going to ignore it .... because it is Christmas now and SO WONDERFUL to have OUMI AND OUPA with us.

You are a braver woman than I, my dear!! Although I have painted my share of bathrooms, and have even demolished the tiled walls of the bathroom at my previous home (now THAT's satifying! Nothing does away with angst like smashing a sledgehamer through ceramic!) I have never had the gumption to tackle wallpaper. More power to ya! It looks great!

Arghhh! Isn't it annoying the order the pics post in. I've been burned more than once. Kudos on tackling the bathroom. You are my hero!
