Merry Christmas to YOU

Christmas morning

Christmas Eve - we toast cheese over candles and eat it with bread and crackers

Christmas lights. We went with Oumi, Oupa and the Milne's to see Christmas lights in the neighbourhood.

Christmas tree ornaments (our family faces) made by Mama, Oumi, Mila, Julia and even Liam.

Making Christmas tree ornaments

What a wonderful day. Last night I reinforced the Christmas morning rules that I learned as a child as I sent the children to bed. For those of you who haven't heard... If you are awake when Father Christmas comes to the house, he mearly passes by and cannot deliver your presents, so it is important to go straight to sleep. Also, if you wake before 6am, you should stay in your room. If you look in your stocking before this time, then your presents turn to coal. Having said this I had no problem getting the girls to bed. We had a funfilled Christmas with friends and family. Of course, we had a feast and now look forward to leftovers for days to come:).

Loved the photos! I'm so glad you guys had a Merry Christmas!
My kids were also quick to go to bed. We tracked Santa on the Norad website and when we saw that he was already just a few hours away from us, they went immediately to sleep to ensure he would not skip our house. :)
Merry Christmas! We miss you guys.

Ahh...now I understand why Willa was adamant about not getting up before me, and where she learned that if she did, her stocking presents would disappear! Mila is a good influence on her!

We also tracked Santa on the NORAD site, and as soon as he hit the east coast, Willa exclaimed, "He's moving so fast he's freaking me out! I've got to go to sleep RIGHT now!" I wish every night was Christmas eve!

Thanks for sharing. I like to hear about other people's traditions. Beren comes with built-in caution. He actually asked me to put him to bed and close the door lest he jinx the magical morning by seeing something he shouldn't ;).
