Hello Texas

We arrived in Allen, Texas on Tuesday 29th. Pam (our real estate agent ) was kind enough to pick us up at the Dallas, Lovejoy airport and bring us to our new home. It was so exciting to drive up and see out old toyota corolla parked in our driveway. Then we came inside and explored. Actually ....one of the first things to explore was outside ... the pool and fishpond. We are all so excited about the pool - it is a dream come true.

The girls, especially Mila, are thrilled to have pets. We have some little gold fish living in our pond. These are the first pets that we have owned as a family!! Kurt took Mila to Petco on Wednesday to buy some fish food and then we received an email from the previous owners saying not to feed the fish untill Spring because their metabolisms slow down in Winter and they are not able to digest the food. Hopefully the one meal they got ill not do too much harm!!
Apparently we have 10 fish ... but have only ever seen 4 at one time.

Mila was also thrilled to have a "secret room" - she discovered the storage area under the stairs and it has become her favourite place to play. I will have to limit my storage use of it.

My favorite room is the Kitchen - CUPBOARD space -YAY!

It is almost a week that we have been here now. We were expecting our things to arrive on Saturday but apparently the truck got held up in "weather" somewhere. I considered getting irritated by this ... but what would the point be? Actually I am enjoying some time without STUFF. Especially without boxes! Everyday I am grateful that we negotiated for the fridge, washer and dryer to come with the house though. It has made things liveable only having a few pairs of clothes each and able to buy some fresh food for the house.

Yesterday I went to church - twice actually! Kurt discovered online that we are in the Allen First Ward and our meetings start at 11am this year. So there I was at 1105 (any of you who know me are well aware that is about as "on time" as I get) with Julia and Liam only to discover that it was Stake conference and our ward's meeting was at 1pm. Mila came down with a fever on Saturday night, to her dismay, as she had been excited about going to church "to make some friends" since the moment we arrived. When I went back at 1pm it was just with Liam as Julia was ready for a nap. This made for a very uplifting meeting - it has been a while since I have sat in the chapel and actually been able to follow all the talks! It seems like a wonderful ward and stake.

I have got to interrupt things here because Mila, Julia and Liam are all awake and competing for my attention. Time for breakfast - I am sure I will need to wash the 4 plastic bowls we areusing for every meal.
