ENT

Thank you so much for the prayers, concern and support you have offered on our behalf regarding Mila's hearing. It has been so comforting. The ENT we saw yesterday was excellent in assessing and explaining the situation. We were told that she does in fact have fluid behind her ear drums and this is most likely because her eustacian tubes are not draining as they should. Most likely her adenoids are enlarged and blocking the tubes. Her suggestion is to place tubes to drain the fluid and remove the adenoids. She also had a thorough hearing test that showed mild hearing loss in the right ear and moderate in the left. Her hearing is definately improved compared with a few weeks ago (perhaps the cellfood has been effective on those adenoids in some way?)

She thinks Mila's hearing will be back to normal as soon as the fluid is drained.

We will probably go ahead with the surgery, but may delay it for a couple of months.

Sorry this is short but life is crazy at the moment. Will be going to Housten this weekend... very excited to see our friends there ( from Oregon who moved to Idaho .... ) who are now in TEXAS.

We had the same problems with Heidi up until her 18th birthday. Would the tubes be called 'grommits' too?
We know, though, that Mila will be fine and that her hearing will be ok as she is always in our thoughts and prayers too.

yes mom - gromits is the same thing. What happened on her 18th birthday that made it go away?
