Back to Work

Last week I started orientation for my new job. I have been nervous about it, I must admit, but it went quite well. I like the people I have met on the unit so far. And what is not to like about working 5 minutes away? Also, I expected to be exhausted at the end of the day, but felt rather refreshed. Apparently 12 hours on my feet looking after pregnant and laboring women is not more exhausting than being home with 3 children all day... who would have thought!
It is really nice to be working during the day - to wake up in the morning and leave for work - as opposed to being up all day with children and then up all night at work. The children are spending weekdays with a good friend. Our children get along well together. Once I get off oreintation, my plan is to work mostly Saterdays. Kurt is excited that last Saterday went well - he says it is easier to have all three children than it was for him to watch just Mila when I first went to work.
Liam does have to get credit for being an unusually adaptable baby. He does LOVE hanging with his Papa too. I breastfeed him before I go to work (wake him up at an unearthly hour). Then he eats regular food and drinks from a cup during the day... and goes straight to breast when I come home. Something he does regularly at the moment: Kurt will take him upstairs with him to watch TV when the girls have been put to bed, and Kurt wants to unwind. Liam will crawl around Kurt and wrestle a little, play with whatever is lying on the floor and then when he is tired he just lies down, puts his thumb in his mouth and sucks himself to sleep. It is so CUTE.
