Julia is Swimming

Seeing as we are in the pool almost every day, it is probably not surprising that Julia is learning to swim very quickly. On Saturday, while I was at work, Kurt tells me she was swimming all around without her life jacket. She ended up rubbing her little toes raw though - from holding onto the edges and "walking" on the sides of the pool. I remember the sore toes from doing exactly the same thing as a child. Kurt put plasters (band aids) on every one of her toes that night ...

Yesterday we allowed the girls to put their feet in the water to cool off in the evening and Julia's plasters came off. Sobbing she shouted to Kurt and I :
"My toes have turned white ... and that is NOT MY FAVOURITE COLOUR!"

Liam likes the water too. He has no fear and likes to "fall" in any chance he gets. When I scoop him out, he doesn't seem at all concerned and tries to propel himself out of my arms again. If you have ever seen videos of babies swimming under water - that is exactly what Liam looks like. Only problem is that his head is the heaviest part of his body so he ends up propelling himself downwards, while the rest of his body wants to float (fat is less dense than water, I guess).
