Fred's croaking chorus

The past few nights Kurt and I have been listening to a croaking cacophony in our back yard. On Saturday we had a torch (flashlight) out there because we were trying to figure out some pool issue and we came across Fred sitting in the pond. I went to check if Mila was still awake to call her to see him... but she was fast asleep. Last night he was there again - in exactly the same spot on the rock in the pond. He is sitting next to the house that Mila made for him. He is bigger now than when we first caught him and introduced him to the pond - but we are sure it is the same frog!

Mila explains :"He went back to see his parents but now he is bigger and old enough to live in his own house and so he came to stay in our pond - he just visits his parents now. I hope it is a girl and she will lay eggs so that we can have tadpoles! How do we tell if it is a girl frog?"

Me: "I don't know"

Mila:"We will have to look on the internet"

That's where we go to answer all our unanswerable questions too. It's like a modern-day oracle. I'm going to start calling my computer Sybil.
