Fairy Fantasy

Mila wakes up in the mornings with a lot to say. She thinks a LOT.... about everything. This morning she climbed into bed with me, bursting with the following plan:

"Mom, I have decided I am going to catch some fairies and keep them in our house. Then we will put buckets all over and only leave a very small path between the rooms where there will not be buckets so that we can walk. The fairies will fly around and we can collect fairy dust in the buckets. We will have one BIG bucket to empty all the little buckets into. The fairies can bath in that bucket at nighttime and we can use some of the dust to sprinkle on us so that we can fly.

At this point Julia, who had switched our bedside radio/alarm clock to radio mode and was dancing around the room, started bouncing up and down on the bed flapping her arms.

"I am flying", she was repeating again and again.

Mila: "At least we have one pretend fairy"

Me:"How are you going to catch the fairies?"

Mila:" With the pool net - it has a very long pole that can reach high in to the air. Or with my butterfly net if they are close to the ground. That is IF there are any left - I hope the hawks haven't eaten them all. Hawks can eat a few fairies every DAY.... or every week I am not sure."

She's bold. I'm a little scared of fairies myself. Crafty little snippets they are and very self-absorbed. But they are lovely . . .
