From Polliwogs to tiny Frogs

All those little specs in the water are newly developed from eggs (very baby tadpoles!)

A few days later....

Maybe a month later....

Yes it has been too long since my last "frog post". As far as I can remember, I had told you that we had thousands of eggs laid in the pond and many tadpoles evolving. Unfortunately we accidentally wiped out most of them- we cleaned the filter with bleach and that did them in - it was a very sad day (Kurt and I still feel guilty!). But luckily we had some in a plastic container next to the pond that we kept there to better watch them grow. It has been delightful to watch the little polliwogs develop and while I was chatting to my mom online this morning, Julia came inside, delighted, with a tiny little frog sitting on her index finger. It really was the tiniest frog I have ever seen (maybe 1cm X 5mm) . She brought it right up to the computer so we could show my mom and it started hopping all over the place - onto the desk and then the keyboard. I wish I was able to get a picture. Then she took it outside and we lost sight of it in the pond. We have another wog with all 4 legs but still a long tail that I am sure will be a frog soon.
