Tears and laughter

Last night I went to tuck Mila into bed and she was crying into her blanket - just thinking about it now is bringing tears to my eyes.... maybe that is also because of a certain post I just read on Heather W.'s blog. I will cut and paste it here for those of you that are as sentimental as us ... with children venturing to school this year.

Mila was crying because she misses her friends. Between her sobs she said how she knows we have a new house and she is making new friends .... but she misses her old friends. I know just what she means. She was holding "lamby" - a little white lamb given to her by Willa. My heart aches for her.

Mila had her first guitar lesson yesterday. It went well but I think that may be what brought all this on. Her teacher seems great - but he is not the same as her OLD guitar teacher.

Another beautiful day here in Texas - wish I could have all my Oregon friends over to enjoy it with me - I know you would all appreciate it as much as I am.

Posted some snow pics that went with an earlier blog - Julia is eating a snow ball that she made that morning when the girls woke up and went outside to make the most of the melting snow. Mila's snow ball is still in the freezer. I think she is saving hers for a REALLY hot day.

Mila'ism
Yesterday we woke up and checked out the weather on our home page (as we do most days). It was going to be warm and partly cloudy. We got out a bit late to the library and were dressed for warm weather but there was a cool breeze as we walked from the car. I made some comment on how it wasn't quite as warm as they said it was going to be. Mila countered
"Maybe they meant it would be warm if you were wearing a coat!"
